Hello! Maybe you came from my tumble blog. If so, you might remember that one horrifying 24 hours when it looked like tumblr was going to stop notifying users when one of their posts was reblogged with comments. Basically: someone would reblog the thing, say a funny little something, and suddendly that would become a seperate post with its own likes and comments and whatnot. That um...well that terrified me. I was worried it would be the death of the website I knew. Then a day passed and tumblr rolled the update back. I mean, they kind of had to due to the negative reaction.
Anyway. During the time I thought tumblr was about to die, I was scrambling to find some sort of alternative. While looking through the tumblr tag (where people were discussing tumblr on tumblr.com) I saw some suggest neocites. Did I go, "Holy moly this is the perfect tumblr replacement!"? Honestly...not really. I love this place, I do. But it's undoubtly different from tumblr which is a literal social media. This is the indieweb! It's different! It's like a place for everyone to put up their little web scrapbooks. It's epic. Anyway, I had heard of neocites before. Months prior to all this, I'd found a REALLY cool youtube video which explained what this was & how to set it up. I watched it, thought about it and...did not come back to it until now. But I'm here now! A lot of this place is still under construction, but I'm hoping to make this a place where you can click around & get lost. Hopefully there's gonna be a little bit of everything.
